Illuminating Lives with Art: Tesprit's Mission to Empower Togo's Homeless Children

Foli Kossi Gerard, known as Tesprit. Born in 1994 in Lomé, Tesprit is a self-taught artist whose work captures the essence of vulnerability, playfulness, and optimism. He creates his masterpieces using recycled slippers recovered from Lomé's dumps, each slipper holding a unique narrative filled with resilience and determination. By assembling these thick but light layers of soles on canvas, he captures the poses and actions observed in the streets of Lomé, transporting us into the lives and experiences of the Dzimakplao. The faceless characters portrayed in his paintings symbolize the anonymous portraits of children navigating the complexities of our modern world.

By purchasing his artwork, you not only become a part of his artistic journey but also contribute to a cause that uplifts and empowers those who often go unnoticed.  Your purchase will not only bring joy to your home but will also contribute to environmental sustainability.
