AFRISOS

AFRISOS (African School of Storytelling) believes that stories are the only way humans can make a real, long-lasting impact. That is the motivation behind the launch of a storytelling movement focused on empowering the next generation of filmmakers and photographers that wish to preserve Africa’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

AFRISOS does this by providing educational opportunities with hands-on assignments, personalised mentorships and access to paid jobs in the field. ‘As Africans, our voices are often left unheard. We depend on other people to come and tell our own stories, but by initiating this hub for filmmakers and storytellers, we can tell our stories as a continent,’ explains Frank Papushka, one of the founders.
